NAJ puts more demand on Bruce Golding Administration

The Edith Allwood Anderson led Nurses Association of Jamaica NAJ is making another demand of the Bruce Golding administration just 7 days after the two parties signed a wage deal for the 2008-2010 contract period.

This time the NAJ is demanding that they be paid all retroactive salaries owed to them under a new timetable.

The demand was made following a meeting with its members of the weekend.

According to the NAJ during the meeting on Saturday its members voted unanimously to accept the schedule for the payment of new salaries and fringe benefits inclusive of two months retroactive pay, this month.

However, the Nurses requested that the remaining retroactive payments be made no later than February next year instead of March.

Last Tuesday the NAJ and the Ministry of Finance signed a new wage contract for the 2008-2010 contract period which will cost the government 430 million dollars.
