Traffic changes for Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth this Christmas Season
There will be several traffic changes in the town of Santa Cruz in St. Elizabeth for the busy Christmas season.
The National Works Agency (NWA) which made the announcement said the traffic changes for the town for Santa Cruz will become effective tomorrow.
The NWA said a one-way system will be enforced from Monday-Saturday between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The one-way system will end on January 4, 2010.
According to the NWA’s Manager for Communication and Customer Services Stephen Shaw, Main Street towards Lacovia will be converted to a one-way system.
As a result, motorists traveling from Lacovia towards Mandeville will be re-routed along the Santa Cruz By-pass.
Market Street will be converted to a one-way roadway, heading in the direction of the Santa Cruz By-pass.
Institution Drive will also be converted to a one-way corridor, to accommodate vehicles traveling to Main Street from the Santa Cruz By-pass.
The changes are being implemented in a bid to reduce congestion on the streets of Santa Cruz during the Christmas Season.
