The ‘King of Beers’ Budweiser, and Bud Light is now available in Jamaica. Anheuser-Busch announced recently that Budweiser and Bud Light will be distributed in Jamaica by the Wisynco Group Limited. It is currently available for purchase in select restaurants, supermarkets and bars across the island.

Anheuser-Busch made the decision to expand their distribution of Budweiser to Jamaica at this time, as it represents an interesting market that has an appreciation for a good beer and whose consumers are sure to be pleased by its clean, crisp and refreshing taste.

Anheuser Busch believes strongly that Budweiser has distinct advantages over the other leading brands including: Quality – all-natural ingredients, crisp, clean taste; Brand name – an internationally recognized name; image – as a young, fun, cool brand that is associated with sports; partnership with Wisynco – experienced and well-entrenched in the market.

William Mahfood, Managing Director of Wisynco welcomes its status as exclusive distributor of Budweiser and Bud Light. The company has a well established distribution network which will be used to distribute the beers throughout the island. Mr. Mahfood said “Wisynco successfully distributes many world class brands in Jamaica and I believe that our experience with Budweiser and Bud Light will be no different.”

According to Mr. Mahfood, “we are a food and beverage company that sees an opportunity to expand into the alcoholic beverage market and specifically the beer segment that has proven to be profitable here in Jamaica. Budweiser and Bud Light are two international iconic brands with superior drinkability and we feel strongly that they will do well in Jamaican market.”

Budweiser is an American lager which has been brewed since 1876 using a blend of U.S. and European hops, and a combination of barley malts and rice. A centuries-old, European-aging technique called kraeusening is also used, which involves adding a small amount of freshly yeasted wort to fermenting beer at the start of the aging cycle to facilitate natural carbonation. Then, Anheuser-Busch’s exclusive beechwood aging process helps create a crisp, clean taste. It contains 5% alcohol by volume (per 355 ml. serving) and will be distributed in bottles and cans.

Anheuser Busch which is based in St. Louis, is the leading American brewer and it controls 50.9% share of U.S. beer sales. The company brews the world’s largest-selling beers, Budweiser and Bud Light. Anheuser-Busch is ranked No. 1 among beverage companies in FORTUNE Magazine’s Most Admired U.S. and Global Companies lists in 2008.
