Nesbeth promotional plan for 2009 was to get his image and music out to a broader market, create hits and launch a campaign that will enhance his chances of getting more shows in the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. Booked to appear on Reggae Summerfest in Washington DC and Red Hot Boatride which kick off from the docks of Chelsea Pier in New York City, Nesbeth ceased the opportunity to kick of some promotion in the big apple and extended his trip for two (2) weeks.
The decision worked in his favour and further led to his performances on New Jersey Reggae Fest, Irie Jamborie and Rock With Squeeze in New York. Nesbeth also did several interviews backstage prior to his performances and got chances to visit as well as sit in over ten (10) live radio interviews in and around the city. Among his list of achievements, Nesbeth landed an exclusive interview which led to a centre spread and cover feature in the October issue of New York base Gorgeous Magazine.
On his return to the island Nesbeth press on with the promotion with the focus on radio and “Drive By”, Jan Biggs Production single. In November he got settled in the studios where he commenced work on two (2) releases for the Christmas holidays. Drive By did well and is still lingering on a number of local charts, the single is said to be “an anthem” on Metro FM in Kenya.
Nesbeth released two (2) singles as promised “A Nuh Suh Mi Waan Live” and Question in the midst of the Christmas season, he performed on a number of local events including STING 2009 and ended his year on a positive note. Nesbeth is pleased with the nominations for “Singjay of the Year” as he believes “it is in recognition of the work done in 2009″ and the world of opportunities created for the artiste in 2010.
