Munro ahead in boys elimination of MILO Western Champs
After twelve (12) completed finals yesterday (Thursday, February 18) at Herbert Morrison High School, defending champion Munro College with 97 1/2 points is leading in the MILO Western Champs boys’ elimination. Peter’s Field and Herbert Morrison with 66 points each are in joint second. St. Elizabeth Technical – 62 and Godfrey Stewart – 25 round out the top five positions.
One record was broken i.e. the Class I Shot Put. Emanuel Onyia of Munro recorded a throw of 17.59M to erase Clackston Bernard’s 1998 record of 16.53M.
The twelve completed finals are Discus Class I, II and III, Long Jump Class II, III and IV, High Jump Class I, III and IV, Shot Put Class I, 3000M and 5000M.
Eighteen of the twenty-eight competing boys schools have gained points so far.
Come tomorrow (Saturday, February 19) the finals will get under way at Herbert Morrison Technical starting at 9:30 am when all the schools (boys and girls) who reach the various finals will battle each other for top honours.
