Rapper Snoop Dogg wins UK immigration fight
US rap star Snoop Dogg has won the latest round in a long-running fight with UK border authorities over his right to enter the country.
The 38-year-old was denied a UK tour visa in 2007, but managed to have it lifted the following year.
After the UK Border Agency challenged the ruling, the case went to an Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.
Last week two senior immigration judges decided border authorities were wrong to deny the hip-hop star entry.
Snoop Dogg – real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr – was told of the decision on Monday, which enables him to re-apply for a visa.
However, there is still no guarantee that a visa will be issued.
‘Risk to the public’
A UK Border Agency spokesperson said it was “disappointed by the tribunal’s decision in this case”.
“We are studying the determination carefully and will take a decision whether to appeal.”
The original ruling came in the wake of Snoop Dogg’s arrest in April 2006, following a fracas at Heathrow Airport involving members of his entourage. Read the rest of this entry »
Woman arrested near Diddy’s home out on bailed
Stalking; stalking!! Diddy watch out it happened to Mike Tyson and it can happen to you. These bimbos keep walking into male celebrities and offer them something most of them cant refuse (SEX), and then the celebrities end up behind bars and pay huge amounts of money.
Or is this the case of an obsessed mad woman? Lol she is claiming to be his wife. Now which celebrity in Diddy’s caliber would be married in this day and age and the paparazzi don’t have wind of it?
A woman claiming to be the wife of rapper Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has been bailed after being arrested near his home on Long Island, New York.
Cemelia Green has pleaded not guilty to criminal mischief and trespassing after wandering into a property she mistook for the star’s house.
Ms Green, who was seen twice at the house but fled on the first occasion has been freed on $5,000 (£3,326) bail.
There has been no official comment from Combs, who is unmarried.
Police said Ms Green, who is from Florida, was spotted at the house in February and was approached by a maintenance worker. She claimed to be married to the rapper and producer who is said to be worth around $350m (£233m).
She fled the property after police were called.
Later that month, she asked local police for directions to his house, but was refused.
Hurt Locker producer barred from Oscars
A producer for Oscar-nominated war film The Hurt Locker will not be allowed to attend the awards ceremony after breaking Academy rules.
Nicolas Chartier has been barred from the event after sending an e-mail to voters urging them to name his movie as best film over rival Avatar.
Academy rules prohibit the mailing of members to promote or disparage a film.
But should The Hurt Locker win best picture, Chartier will still receive his Oscar statuette at a later date.
In his email, which was sent to members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in late February, Chartier asked members to choose The Hurt Locker over what he described as “a $500 million film” – a clear reference to fellow best picture contender Avatar.
Subsequent emails, posted by the Los Angeles Times, showed Chartier asking Oscar voters to rank his film at number one and Avatar at number 10 among the list of nominated films.
‘Negative or derogatory light’
Although he later apologised, citing “naivete, ignorance of the rules and plain stupidity as a first-time nominee” for the error, the Academy said Chartier had violated campaigning standards.
“Chartier had recently disseminated an email to certain Academy voters and other film industry figures in which he solicited votes for his own picture and disparaged one of the other contending films.
“Academy rules prohibit ‘casting a negative or derogatory light on a competing film’,” the Academy said in a statement. Read more of this entry.
Lil Wayne set to test how jails handle celebs
By JENNIFER PELTZ
NEW YORK – Lil Wayne may be a self-professed gangsta with the gunshot wound to prove it, but he’s made plenty clear how he feels about doing time behind bars.
“I’d rather be pushin’ flowers,” he raps in 2008’s “A Milli,” “than to be in the pen sharin’ showers.”
He might have to get used to it. At the apex of a career that has made him one of music’s biggest sellers, the Grammy-winning artist is expected to start a yearlong jail term Tuesday after pleading guilty in a New York City gun case.
It would make him the latest in a string of rappers to go to jail after rising to fame — and the latest celebrity inmate to test law enforcement officials’ ability to draw the line between providing special treatment and recognizing potential risks to high-profile convicts.
“It’s a challenge,” said Martin Horn, a former head of the New York City jails, where Lil Wayne’s plea agreement calls for him to serve his sentence.
“It’s not about setting (a celebrity) on a bed of roses, but it is about an obligation to every inmate to keep him safe.”
For now, jail officials say only that they will assess the multiplatinum-selling Lil Wayne as they do every other new arrival and find an appropriate place for him among the city’s roughly 13,000 inmates.
He might follow the path of rapper Foxy Brown, who spent about eight months in 2007 and 2008 in city jails on a probation violation after pleading guilty to assault in a fracas at a nail salon. Because of threats against her, she was held largely in protective custody in a cell of her own, with access to a day room, said Horn. Read the rest of this entry »

Aruba prosecutor: TV confession in Holloway case ‘not true’
(CNN) — A Dutch man once considered a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway has told a television station he dumped her body in a swamp, Aruba’s chief prosecutor told CNN.
However, Joran van der Sloot’s claims to Dutch station RTL-5 are “unbelievable,” prosecutor Peter Blanken said.
RTL-5 said Tuesday it had “acquired exclusive material containing a statement by Joran van der Sloot” regarding Holloway’s disappearance.
“This material was first offered to us in 2009,” Remko van Westerloo, the station’s director of programming, said in a statement.
“Obviously, our initial response was skeptical,” van Westerloo said. “However, we did feel that this interview required thorough research. We’ve spoken to a variety of experts and several critics. These findings resulted in a TV special which will air this Sunday. It’s up to the viewers to form their own opinions on the matter.” Read the rest of this entry »

Accepting the award, Firth, 49, thanked his director for leaving him “resuscitated, a little more worldly, better groomed, more fragrant and more nominated than one has ever been before”. Read the rest of this entry »

Cheating Men
If a man is caught with his pants down with someone other than his wife, who does he owe an apology, his wife or the public?
Elin picked up Tiger as he left rehab and they spent some time alone. But now, they are reportedly living in separate houses he owns in Orlando, just miles apart.
The marriage, while not over, is said to be extremely fragile.
Elin has put the divorce on hold, leading many to believe Tiger is out of the … woods. Sorry. But she is still not over Tiger’s betrayal and things remain strained.
She is still not wearing her wedding ring and there is no physical contact between the couple, who see each other when they shuttle their children back and forth.
As for Tiger’s battle with sex addiction – either a worthy endeavor, lost cause, or huge joke (says someone who calls him a sex rehab center) – he’s still fighting it.
“Tiger has had follow up care,” a source said. “He spent time with Elin but they are not living together. It’s a slow process. There’s no guarantee it will work out.”
