HYPE 2K10 Will Be A Memorable Event

Flava Squad Entertainment the promoters of HYPE 2K10 promise to make this year’s staging of their annual stage show a most memorable event; despite the pressures of the current economic recession the chief organizer of the event Ewan McRae is adamant that his company will be staging a great event come April 3rd at Independence Park in Black River, St. Elizabeth. Therefore he and his team have put together a very exciting package for Hype 2K10 because they want to give patrons good value for their money.
“We know how tight things are for everybody right now with the recession and all that’s going on economically, therefore we are trying our very best to give our patrons a very good event for their money. We have always tried our best to deliver a very good entertainment package to our supporters; since we began HYPE 2K four years ago we have always maintained this approach. GOOD TIMES in the Big Apple
Kingston, Jamaica: – Jamaica’s premier oldies party, Good Times, invades New York on Friday April 30, 2010. Already tightly gripping the psyche of Jamaican party lovers, Good Times is now spreading its grasp to North America. The event is slated for Mingles Café in The Bronx, New York and is the first out-of-island experience for the party, but according to the organizers, not the last.
Good Times staged four times annually in Kingston, boasts enviable numbers, and has grown considerably since its first edition in 1996. Many in the Diaspora have been known to fly to Jamaica and incorporate the event into their hectic vacation schedules, as the party spreads it wings to score record numbers in Kingston, May Pen, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios.

Shaggy For Negril One Love Reggae Concert
Diamond selling dancehall/reggae superstar Orville Burrell popularly known as Shaggy will be the featured act at the Negril One Love Reggae Concert winter series show which will be held on Tuesday the 23rd of February at the Negril Escape Resort.
Shaggy came to international prominence in the early 1990s with a cover of the Folks Brothers Ska hit Oh Carolina; since then he has become a household name world wide having sold millions of album and singles. Shaggy’s impressive catalogue boasts several international chart toppers such as It Wasn’t Me Angel, Boombastic, In The Summer Time, Luv Me Luv Me, Hey Sexy Lady, Wild Tonite and Whats Love.

Flava Squad Entertainment will be staging their 4th annual Family Fun day/ Car Sound Clash, on the 3rd of April 2010 at Independence Park in Black River, St. Elizabeth, dubbed HYPE 2K10. This year’s staging will be even bigger and better as the promoters of the event will be doing everything possible to enhance and maintain the usual high production standards that are synonymous with the HYPE 2K brand of events.
For the last three years the promoters have treated music lovers in southern Jamaica to some very exciting events featuring top acts such as Bounty Killer, Mavado, Rick Ross, Sizzla, Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man, Busy Signal along with top vintage acts such as Ken Booth and John Holt. Academy ditches Oscar-nominated song performances
The songs nominated for this year’s Academy Award will not be performed live at the ceremony in Los Angeles next month, organisers have announced.
The five-strong musical shortlist will be showcased with clips from the films they featured in, said Academy spokeswoman Leslie Unger.
This year’s shortlist includes two songs by Randy Newman from animated film The Princess and The Frog.
Last year’s best original song winner was Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire.
Memorable performances
Other songs in the running this year include Take It All from the musical film Nine, performed on screen by Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard.
The Weary Kind, sung by Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart is also nominated, along with Loin de Paname from French movie Paris 36.
Bridges is considered the front runner for this year’s best actor accolade, but the song’s co-writer, Ryan Bingham, said: “We haven’t been invited.”
Sasquatch Festival 2010 Lineup Includes Pavement, Vampire Weekend, MGMT
My Morning Jacket, Wale, Kid Cudi, the National also join three-day festival in Washington May 29-31.
Even though the terrible winter weather still grips most of the East Coast and the South, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel: Festival season is just around the corner. The Coachella lineup has already been announced (featuring Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz), the bands for Bonnaroo have been set (including Weezer, the Flaming Lips, Kings of Leon and Jay-Z again) and rumors are already circulating about the Lollapalooza lineup (Lady Gaga and the reunited Soundgarden are being whispered about).
On Monday night, the latest warm-weather festival announced its full slate of bands. The ninth annual Sasquatch festival, held every year at the picturesque Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, revealed its full lineup during a party at Seattle’s Crocodile Café. Shaggy, Tarrus Riley, Jah Cure and Wayne Wonder to close out Negril One Love Reggae Concert Series
The Negril One Love Reggae Concert winter series will come to an end on the 9th of March 2010. The series kicked of on November 17th last year ad has been very successful as every Tuesday since its inception hundreds of patron have come out to support the weekly concert series which is held at the Negril Escape Resort. The concerts have featured some of reggae’s top acts such as Richie Spice, Sanchez, Tanya Stephens, Tarrus Riley, Freddie McGregor, Julian Marley, Jah Cure and Chaka Demus and Pliers. Also the production standards for the series have been very high as the chief organizer and promoter of the series Carey Wallace CEO of Negril escape, ensures that every aspect of his productions are dealt with in a very serious manner.
