Stevie Face for Somerton All Age School Benefit Concert!

Somerton in the parish of St James comes alive on Saturday August 14 when Lovers Rock sensation and UK awarded singer of the year for 2009 Stevie Face performs live in a benefit concert for the Somerton All Age School. Nesbeth Look Forward to Performing on Calgary Int’l Reggae Fest!

D’Angel To Ignite Reggae Sumfest This Weekend

After ripping the runway at the recently concluded Pulse – Caribbean Fashion Week, plans are now in high gear for dancehall recording artiste D’Angel to make good on her promise of delivering a memorable performance at the 2010 staging of Reggae Sumfest destined for Catherine Hall, Montego Bay. Though not her first time on the big stage, D’Angel is focused on leaving her imprint on the expected thousands in attendance on Dancehall Night.

“I plan to pull out all the stops, not just to go on stage and sing my songs. I want to leave something memorable that people will talk about even after the festival has ended.”

Meanwhile D’Angel currently one of the campaign faces of telecom giants Digicel, last week kicked off their ‘Juss Buss’ Road Show alongside other acts. The ‘Bigger Better’ company now a staple across the Caribbean and Latin America also rolled out their first official musical compilation entitled ‘Next Generation’ which features several prominent entertainers including D’Angel with a song titled ‘New Generation’.

Equipped with several new singles and the premier of her scorching hot video for ‘Come Over’, the Dancehall fashionista is scheduled to perform at a number of events in the weeks ahead including: Manchester Fiesta, Little Ochi Seafood Festival and Radio Jamaica Group (RJR) 60th Anniversary among others.

Reggae Sumfest Honours Voicemail’s O’Neil

Escape through the music. Make it Montego Bay, Make it Reggae Sumfest

Kingston Jamaica: Summerfest Productions, organizers of Reggae Sumfest have dedicated Dancehall Night to the memory of the late O’Neil Edwards, former member of Dancehall group Voicemail.

The energetic and colourful O’Neil passed away on Wednesday, May 26, two weeks after falling victim to a vicious assault by gunmen at his home. The Reggae Sumfest team felt it was a fitting tribute to a man whose music has played a key role in the maintenance of the flair, fun, and finesse of the dancehall culture.

“It is appropriate to honour a vibrant personality that was loved in the music business,” explains Johnny Gourzong, Executive Director of Reggae Sumfest. “The Voicemail group has brought the fun factor in the music, and O’Neil was a key element in this regard. He was loved and respected by fans, fellow artistes, promoters and just about everybody in the business, so we will honour his memory with this dedication.”

Voicemail will be performing on Dancehall Night Thursday, July 22. The remaining group members Jerome “Craig” Jackson and Kevin Blair expressed gratitude for the gesture made by Reggae Sumfest and promised a fitting tribute performance.
